Green Woodpecker: adult male ID
The main difference from female Green is the presence of red in the otherwise black malar stripe. This might also be described, as a red malar stripe bordered by black, such is the extent of red. This photo of an adult male was taken in England (Bill Baston). Note the strong red malar.
