Quiz woodpecker 31

Here is a pair of Middle Spotted Woodpeckers Dendrocopos medius snapped by Uku Paal in Estonia. They are the least dimorphic of all European "pied" woodpeckers. So, which is the male and which is the female?

The female is at the hole. The crown is not bright red, and has a yellowish tint at the hind part, where it meets the black hindneck.
