Three-toed Woodpecker: alpinus flight photo

This adult male alpinus race Three-toed Woodpecker was photographed in Slovakia (László Novák/Kármán Balázs). The back pattern cannot be seen on this flight view but note the heavily barred underbody and overall very dark plumage.
